Status components and groups

Define the services shown on your status page and set their current status.

A component is a service or part of your product that customers care about, such as “Website”, “API” or “Checkout”. Components are listed on the status page with their current status and a 90-day uptime bar.

Groups

Use groups to organize related components into sections, for example “Core” and “Integrations”. Create a group, name it, then assign components to it. The page shows how many components each group holds. Groups are optional.

Component statuses

StatusUse when
OperationalEverything works as expected.
Degraded performanceThe service works, but slowly or with reduced quality.
Partial outageSome users or features are affected.
Major outageThe service is unavailable.
Under maintenancePlanned work is in progress.

New components start as operational. The page’s overall status reflects the worst component status.

How uptime is shown

For each component Hubbo draws the last 90 days. A day is shown as down if an incident or maintenance that affects the component overlapped it (days are in UTC), and as up otherwise. An incident that does not name specific components affects all of them.

Tips

  • Name components the way customers think about your product, not after internal services.
  • Keep the list short, five to ten is plenty.
  • Linking an incident to the right components keeps uptime accurate.
