Notifications overview

Create announcements that appear in the Hubbo widget and on a public notification page.

Notifications are announcements: new features, fixes, news, warnings, or any message you want visitors to see. You write them once in the admin app and Hubbo shows them in the widget on your site and on a public notification page.

Creating a notification

  1. Go to Notifications → New.
  2. Write a title and a description. The description is rich text, so you can format it and add links and media.
  3. Optionally add a Custom URL. If you do, the notification’s link button opens that address instead of the Hubbo notification page.
  4. Choose the channels, the variant, the category and the publication dates.
  5. Select the options (comments, reactions, social sharing, pinned, preserve).
  6. Configure Targeting (devices, timing, visitor auth, seen notifications, URLs) — optionally load a saved audience.
  7. Optionally customize Appearance for this notification, or keep account defaults from Notifications → Appearance.
  8. Add languages and run AI Translation (or use Notifications → Translations for shared labels). See Translations and languages.
  9. Save as a draft, or publish.

No push or email delivery

Hubbo does not send push notifications or emails to your visitors. The push and email options exist in the product as placeholders and are not delivered. Only the widget and the notification page work.

Categories

Every notification has a category: message, warning, news, fix, improvement, announcement or feature. Category colors are set under Notifications → Appearance. A single notification can also override accent and item colors in its own Appearance tab.

Managing the list

The Notifications section has views for All, Published, Drafts, Expired and Archived. You can edit, clone or archive notifications from the list.

Where visitors see them

  • In the widget on any page of your site that has the embed script.
  • On your public notification page at app.hubbo.io/page/ plus your account key.
  • When the variant is topbar, popup, toast or tooltip, as an overlay at the moment it is published.

AI Translation

Add a locale and click Generate Translation — Hubbo fills titles and descriptions on each post, and shared chrome (header, Published, CTAs, back/share labels, chat copy) under Notifications → Translations. Visitors use hubbo.setLang() when set (pinned); otherwise the browser language, then identify traits. Empty fields fall back to main. See Translations and languages.
